Church History

In early January 2002, after much prayer, Pastor Ken Campbell felt a deep burden to begin a new church in the Southwest Houston/Missouri City area. He served as the Senior Pastor of one of Houston’s oldest African-American congregations for over seven years, Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Third Ward (founded in 1866). Though he witnessed much progress there and had many accomplishments to his credit, it was obvious to all that God was doing a “new thing!” (Isaiah 43:19).

On January 26, 2002, a core group of about 100 Christians came together at Gracious Hope Missionary Baptist Church (Pastor Melvin Hurst) and responded to one simple question:
How can we encourage people today to experience the power of God to transform their lives? So began Household of Faith Community Church.

The Church held its first several services in February 2002 in the Third Ward Multi-Service Center, with around 200 in average attendance. Later, we held services at the Doubletree Hotel-Downtown through August 2002. In September 2002, the worship services relocated to the Southwest Houston area to Klentzman.

Intermediate School near HWY-59S and Wilcrest. While waiting for the Lord to bless us with our own facility, we shared with the Carribean United Church on 5802 Grapevine each Sunday. We are currently worshipping at our own facility located at 6302 Tidwell Road, Houston, Texas.

Why not join us and participate in making our God given Vision a reality? The church has been tremendously used by God. Known for our exciting worship services and solid, real-life bible teaching and preaching, Household of Faith Community Church is bursting with potential! We believe that the God who brought us safe this far, is able to lead us on!
